Grades 5 and under will be following the Gather 'Round curriculum. Each week, lessons focus on key stories of the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament.
The 6-8th graders and 9th-12th graders are guided by their teachers through units based on the big themes of Christian church life. Lessons use Bible study, film, drama, art, discussion, and other resources to explore ideas like worship, community, mission and stewardship.
Volunteers are always welcome to help with projects in Sunday School classrooms! Contact Rev. Amy Murray to learn about these opportunities.
Other educational events for children and youth occur during the week, such as Wednesday Night Alive.
Adult
During the program year
Sunday mornings, 9:00-9:45
Our Adult Spiritual Formation aims to spark some creativity and make room for the Holy Spirit to move us! This is an opportunity to develop and nurture the connection between our head, heart and hands.
We are looking for individuals who would be interested in leading a session or more. Materials are available that address a wide variety of topics from politics, environmentalism, feminism to devotions, building community and overcoming poverty. The opportunities are endless. Please contact Amy Murray, amy.murray@urbucc.org, with your interest.
Also offered throughout the year are other evening educational opportunities, retreats, and groups like the Book Group. Look for more information in The CALL and the Sunday bulletin. Education opportunities may also be offered as part of Wednesday Night Alive.
